Holiday Highlights

It was great to get back to the states for the holidays. Seeing my friends and family after being gone for 5 months was a great reminder of how lucky I am and of the wonderful people I have in my life. So why did I leave? Ok, let's not go there. Interestingly enough, the break from London and the reminder of all the love and support I had back home helped to rejuvinate my onslaught on the european continent. I partied my face off in San Francisco for New Years and came back to London ready to go forward with the evolution of my life.

I would be remiss not to mention my stop in New Orleans. That part of the holidays was an eye opener. It was the first time I had seen it since Katrina hit, and the pictures don't do it justice. You can see these types of things on the news because they represent single rediculous examples of the destruction, but what you don't see is how widespread the distruction is. When you see your first view of a home destroyed, it's sad, but it's also a bit novel. When you drive for 3 hours through places you've been your whole life and can't find one home that is habitable, the magnitude of the damage really sits in. It's depressing for sure.
