Fun, Love and Boston

After Alaska, I made a brief stop in Boston for Stacy and Gian's wedding. Based on my first 4 years in Boston, I'd say that the words "Fun" and "Love" don't belong in the same phrase as "Boston", which is why I set my expectations low for the weekend. It seems as though times have changed since I left beantown 6 years ago, and my unending quest for endless fun had the desired impact on the post wedding party.

As the un-official extracurricular activities coordinator, I felt the need to go big with the after party. My competitive nature just wouldn't let me give in to the town that pulled me down for 4 years. I was pleased with the result. We reserved a suite at the Sheraton, and I knew we were in for some trouble when the groomsmen arrived at my 600 sq foot room with the entire wedding p.a. system. Somehow we only received one security visit, which ended with the guard giving me a high five and encouraging me to keep things moving along. The night ended with 9 people sleeping in various parts of the room and me cleaning the wine stains from the rug. I did have a moment at about 5 a.m. when I looked around, saw what a disaster we had created and just smiled.

On this trip I was thankful for my friends Stacy and Gian and the love they have for each other. Seeing two amazing people in love and agreeing to spend their lives together always gives me hope and inspiriation to find the same for myself. I was also thankful for a few friends who helped make the trip entertaining and fun. Kyle, Greg, Tyler and I all shared a room at the Sheraton and I'm not sure any of us slept in a bed that night. Regardless, the support and comraderie of good friends like them is irreplaceable. My sincere thanks to Stacy and Gian and my good friends Greg, Kyle and Tyler.
